Nation's Birthday Calls for Greater Safety in Tennessee
Fourth of July weekend is a staple holiday for many Americans. Barbecues, fireworks and picnics are traditionally accepted as prime Fourth of July fare. Americans agree, nothing goes better with a chargrilled hamburger than an ice cold beer. In fact, last year the New York Post reported that over 23 million cases of ice cold beer were sold during Fourth of July weekend.
There is nothing wrong with enjoying the festivities, but we wish to express our desire for each and every American to practice caution. Fourth of July is the second deadliest holiday in America, and in 2004 there were over 250 alcohol related accidents. These statistics aren’t meant to scare you, but rather to educate you on the importance of staying safe during Fourth of July.
Independence Day is fast approaching, and we ask that all who choose to drink do so with the utmost safety and concern for fellow Americans. Whether you’re enjoying a backyard barbecue with friends and family, or partaking in cocktails in world famous Downtown Nashville, we all can take extra measures to make sure everyone enjoys the holiday activities with the utmost in safety. Let’s enjoy Fourth of July festivities together, and take care to stay safe.
